Is Adventtalk Finished?

Does anybody else get the sense that AdventTalk is on its last leg? Seems to me that they've gone past the stage where they can rely on bringing old content over from BSDA to stimulate discussion. I've always felt that without any opposition posters they couldn't carry a conversation on for two days. It appears they are banning all opposition for any of a variety of their posted rules of conduct (I lost track of how many they have now). If they don't have a rule that covers your situation, they'll make one quickly after reaching consensus of management (the ladies tell Daryl what to think).
Take a look at their statistics page and note the decline in new members, and posting activity over the last few months. If nobody goes to their party will they shrivel up and blow away? The really positive news is that we gain another forum for exchanging recipes.
Thoughts?

But it will undoubtedly dwindle more yet if no one except a couple are allowed to speak their mind.
It has been very quiet even in the other forums/topics. When so many feel as if they need to walk on egg shells it is hard to have even a casual conversation. Most do not even bother to post there any longer
I am not even sure the recipe corner will work. It is just sad . A really decent adventist forum where you can actually enjoy yourself and look forward to making new online friends would be great
I know there is over 20 rules but have forgotten how many.
Glad God could do it in 10.

I agree that adventtalk seems to be slowing way down. They just banned Donna tonight when she was trying to answer Pickle's accusations. So now she cannot even answer him there. They probably will remove posts too, they seem fond of doing this.
Daryl Fawcell has started a forum that is going to fail one of these days because God cannot bless it. How could it prosper when people try to tell the truth and they get banned for it and their posts removed? I wonder what he will do to try to keep it going. Maybe they get come up with some even jucier fictional stories to whet the appetites of those drunk with gossip.
All I know is that someone must be financially supporting Pickle and Joy and someone is helping them behind the scenes. The rest of us have to work so we are unable to post as much as we'd like.

Yes, Breezy, you are correct. I no more posted when I was immediately banned. The reason given was that I had violated rule #24.
I wrote
Daryl,
I am coming to you because one time you told me in a post that anyone was free to ask questions here. Right now I honestly do not feel free to ask even one question. I am kind of like in a muddle in the middle. I need your help and I think other posters may need your help too.
My dilemma is that I made a statement that can be backed up with pacer files and about a years worth of posts, that all are free to look up, of what would be presented in court by the defendants. Now I am called a liar and a demand is made upon me to retract what I have said and to also give 51% of proof what I have said. AT backed him up. At the same time when others ask questions they are told to hush, etc, which AT also backs up. The one being questioned will not answer or give proof to anything he has said and some things are not able to be found anywhere else either. He will only do so if the one questioning calls him personally. This also is backed up by AT.
The corker is that some who ask questions disappear from AT. My main question to you is: Is everyone free to ask questions and discuss from both sides of the issue or not?
Very Sincerely,
Donna
Rule #24 states
24 - Any complaints pertaining to the decision of an Administrator or Moderator will only be made to that Administrator or Moderator, either by PM, or by Email. The complaint will NOT be posted, neither in any topic of Advent Talk, except where authorized by the Administrator, nor in any other forum outside of Advent Talk, unless first authorized by the Administrator. Violation of this particular rule may result in an immediate ban.
For far too long different members have not only been banned but also have had their posts edited with a notation that made it appear they said something vile, when that wasn't the case at all, or have had whole posts deleted without any explanation to even the author of the post. Now they have a legitimate reason for banning me because I choose not to be even a small part of that atmosphere anymore. I am not saying that there should not be rules but if those rules are not obeyed by all from the owner, administrator, moderators and including all members then they mean absolutely nothing. The rules at AT seem to be set up to control anyone from coming there who in any way has another view to share that AT is not in agreement with.

Gailon Arthur Joy wrote:Wow, sounds ominous!!! Too civilized over there for you? I am sure your membership ranks are growing wildly with people wanting to come in here and participate!!! Congratulations!!!
Now face the truth, you have the 3ABN fanclub here and if they continue to be good boys, you just may grow beyond your wildest dreams. Must ask again. though, do you have permission to us the name 3ATalk.com from the directors of 3ABN?

Obviously you could care less whether 3abn gives permission for such things so why even ask?
If you feel the word for AT is "civilized" maybe you should consider staying put over there. I have a feeling your "personality" is going to get you in trouble over here.

Thank you very much. adventtlak exists for one thing only - to continue the slime site that Calvin finally shut down on bsda. Enjoy the slime at adventtalk, pickledjoy, it's very much your environment.

I do have to ask, pickledjoy. Do you have permission from the Atlantic Union Conference to use the name AUReporter? Our purpose at 3Atalk is very clear - to defend 3ABN. Your purpose as aureporter seems very clear - slime and slander anybody.

My thoughts?
"I haven't caught a fish all day" they said without debate.
I too have been watching their statistics page, along with their reaction to opposition and disagreement for awhile now, and I do get the sense they are on their last leg and yet they also seem to keep trying to shoot it out from underneath themselves...
BTW a cooking and crafts forum is going to be added here also.

It has changed a lot from the beginning of the forum. Now it seems if it does not center around Gailon,Joy,and 3ABN it is not worthy of considering.
Whether the lawsuit runs it's logical course or they reach some type of agreement, there is a life outside of that.
Activity has slowed down and not as many posting, just the regular die hards of the lawsuit fame.
